 Agnes Megowan (d. after 1854)

All available information about Miss Agnes Megowan comes from her pamphlet of religious poetry printed in 1855 by George W. Day: "To Mrs. Wishart, relict of the late Rev. W.T. Wishart, this little work is most respectfully dedicated, as a proof of gratitude on the part of the writer, for the kind instructions received by her both from the living and the deceased. St. John, N.B., Dec 13th, 1854."

A pencilled note in the National Library of Canada's copy of A Few Steps of the Road to Zion states: "Miss Agnes Megowan was a working woman, a milliner, and was a very industrious person, she married late in life, and the marriage proved unfortunate. She was a protegé of the Rev. W. T. Wishart [William Thomas Wishart (1809-1853)], a Presbyterian clergyman of St. John, who was expelled from that church for something like heresy."
